The blossom came early so it doesn’t count….

Had a few inquiries about those darn baskets. Fear not, things are afoot and while we might have been optimistic thinking we would have product ready to go by the time the blossom appeared (Spring came early to boot) plans are well advanced. Much of our current focus has been on refining production and finalizing the details to enhance the function of our product. Particularly in respect to how the basket is attached to an existing carrier. We think we have found a neat and simple solution and this week should finalize that piece of the puzzle. We have also been discussing how to most effectively expand the product line. We have been playing around with the idea of a half basket for front mounting and there is even a rough sketch of a pair of panniers although I am not sold on that concept yet.

In other news the custom basket that we developed for Metrofiets (Portland based cargo bike builders) was debuted at the 2012 North American Hand Built Bike Show (NAHBS) in Sacramento, CA. Cargo bike and basket well received all round. Images below shamelessly cribbed from BikePortland.org.

  1. The world would be a better place if the urban landscapes of city streets were populated by cargo bikes.
